June 20 - Pool Day

Lila and Nellie each had a private swimming lesson this afternoon. I can't decide if Coach Katherine is the world's best swim teacher or if Nellie has just been holding out on us, but she learned to swim after a single half-hour lesson. That was a great $15 investment!

Lucy and I sat in the shade under a fan during their lessons while I took pictures of her. I loved catching all of her expression changes.

While the big girls practiced swimming, Lucy practiced eating her toes. She's very skilled.

After their lesson, the girls enjoyed jumping off the diving board.


On this day in 2009, we went to a going away party for Aira, the foreign exchange student from Germany that lived with Rick's brother's family for the school year. The party was at their Karate studio where Nellie chased a big ball around.

And Lila wore a purple princess dress. Perfect Karate attire!

On this day in 2010, we celebrated Father's Day with Rick's dad and his brother at IHOP just like we did this year.
