June 16 - Powerless

Our electricity went out early this morning, so after swim practice, we decided to hang out in air-conditioned spaces and wait for power to be restored. We spent a couple of hours at Goodwill where I am usually willing to indulge the girls with a treat or two. Today they chose clothes. Lila picked a kimono dressing gown thing and Nellie chose a twirly dress for winter.

Later this afternoon, the girls powered their favorite wheeled toys around the driveway. Nellie in a ballet costume on her scooter:

She took a break to pull some weeds.

Later this evening, we had more lightning bug adventures. I thought this photo turned out really cool. You can see the little firefly flying away into the darkness.

On this day in 2009, we went to a Fancy Nancy dress up activity at the library.
